A lot has changed since Mr Laurie Neale and Mr Patrick Wilding founded the firm that would later become Wildings Solicitors. But even after thirty years the staff at Wildings continue to be our greatest strength.
In the following series of posts, we’ll give you the opportunity to meet some of them, starting with Solicitor Director, Kid Harwood.
What first inspired you to become a Solicitor?
I decided to pursue a career in Law because I wanted to work in a profession where I could really help people and make a difference in their lives. My career has driven a desire to improve people's experiences of the legal profession which led to the creation of LawBid, an online tool matching clients’ needs with local solicitors. I have built up my experience in business whilst running Wildings and I wanted to inspire others to get started in business and entrepreneurship, so in 2015 I launched the Incubox project which supports new business startups and graduate entrepreneurs.
Which areas of Law do you specialise in?
We are proud at Wildings Solicitors to cover a wide range of legal areas including Employment, Conveyancing and Immigration however I have spent most of my career in the field of Personal Injury and Litigation. I enjoy the challenge of fighting for our clients to make sure they are compensated for often life changing accidents.
What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
I get great satisfaction from knowing we have used our knowledge and experience, and fought hard on behalf of our clients to achieve justice for them. As solicitors, we have the power to change lives. When I came into Law I wanted to be able to make a difference, and the excitement of winning a case in court or concluding a case for our client's best interests is what drives me to continue raising standards and seeking the best possible outcomes for our clients.
What is the proudest moment of your career so far?
I am passionate about the CSR work we do at Wildings. One of my proudest moments was completing a charity trek on behalf of Wildings solicitors through the Atlas Mountains, raising money for Francis House Children's Hospice in Manchester. It was a demanding and tough challenge but highly rewarding and I felt proud that we had been able to make even a small difference to people's lives.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Business and entrepreneurship is my passion so you can often find me in the office working on new ways to improve and innovate, however outside of work I like to take to the skies over Lancashire and Cumbria in my light aircraft.
Mr Harwood has a wealth of experience and has acted in a wide range of Personal Injury and Litigation matters. Visit our Personal Injury services page to view the issues the team at Wildings deal with.
